What changed in Eisenhower Matrix for Todoist, newest first. Dates come from the project’s commit history. Small fixes and internal work are left out. For how each feature works today, see the [features page](https://eisenhowertodoist.com/features/).

## October 2026

### Faster, with one loading mark (9 October 2026)

Fewer duplicate requests when the app opens and when you complete a task, and a smaller first download. While your tasks load, the matrix mark fills its four squares in turn.

### Sort with AI on the welcome card (5 October 2026)

With 20 or more tasks to sort, the welcome card offers **Sort with AI**: Categorize opens and asks for suggestions right away. Suggestions start with your most pressing tasks, and the panel offers the next batch when you are done.

### Focus running on another device (5 October 2026)

When Focus is running on your other device, the app shows a banner with the task and its minutes so far, and **End session** to stop it from here.

### Edit a session’s focus time (5 October 2026)

In Statistics › Focus › Sessions, correct a session’s focus time when the timer ran on while you were away, with Undo. Time by task follows the change.

### Time by task (4 October 2026)

Statistics › Focus shows how much time went to each task, for this week, last week, this month, last month, the last 30 days or a range you pick.

- **Copy report** (also in a Jira-ready format) or **Download CSV**.
- Each task opens to show its time per day; filter by project or group by project.
- Single Task Focus shows the time on the current task, today and in total.

### Add or correct time by hand (4 October 2026)

Add time for work away from the timer, such as a meeting or a call, or correct a day’s time, from Time by task, a task’s menu or the phone task sheet. Nothing is written to Todoist.

### Where your time went (4 October 2026)

A new card in Statistics › Focus splits the period’s time on tasks by quadrant and compares each share with the period before.

### More in Single Task Focus (4 October 2026)

- Add subtasks without leaving Focus.
- On a phone, `eisenhowertodoist.com/focus` opens the app straight into Focus and asks which task first: handy for a Home Screen shortcut.

### Subtasks show their parent (3 October 2026)

When a subtask’s parent isn’t in view, the row shows “↳ Parent”, which opens the parent’s card in the app instead of sending you to Todoist.

### Natural-language dates in Add task (3 October 2026)

Type a date in the task name, in English or Turkish, and Add task sets it as the due date.

### Auto-prioritize review: Move all back (3 October 2026)

Move every task auto-prioritize moved back where it was, in one go and with Undo.

### Plans and license keys in plain sight (2 October 2026)

During the trial the plans are on screen from day one, and you can minimise them. Trial and expired accounts can enter a license key right there.

### Delete a task, with Undo (1 October 2026)

Delete a task from its row menu, the trash icon in its hover actions or the phone task sheet. Undo brings it back.

### AI quadrant suggestions (optional) (1 October 2026)

Off by default. When you turn them on, Categorize suggests a quadrant for each task; nothing moves until you accept it. See the [FAQ](https://eisenhowertodoist.com/faq/) for what is sent.

### Focus in one tab at a time (1 October 2026)

Focus runs in one browser tab; a second tab asks before taking it over, so a session is never counted twice.

## September 2026

### Due times (30 September 2026)

Pick a time along with the date. Rows show it, and a task is marked late once its time passes.

### Complete and follow up (30 September 2026)

When finishing a task leaves you waiting on someone, the notification offers **Follow up**: a new task that says who you are waiting on and when to check back. Recurring tasks too.

### Plans after you buy (30 September 2026)

Paying users get a plan panel, and Monthly can switch to Lifetime. The checkout status dialog is clearer about what happens next.

### The focus timer survives a reload (30 September 2026)

Focus keeps running when the page reloads, for example after an iPhone lock screen.

### A phone layout (29 September 2026)

On a phone the matrix shows one quadrant at a time with a tab bar, and Categorize, filters, statistics, the daily review and Focus are laid out for touch.

### Continue with Todoist (29 September 2026)

Sign in with your Todoist account. Emails from the app are branded, and resetting a password is clearer.

### Automatic activation (29 September 2026)

Checkout opens on Gumroad in a new tab, and your plan activates on its own once the payment comes through.

### One period for Statistics (29 September 2026)

Day, Week and Month now set the period for the whole Statistics page.

### Add task, redesigned (28 September 2026)

A faster Add task dialog with an optional quadrant and new label and project pickers.

### Pomodoro cycle in Single Task Focus (28 September 2026)

The timer now runs a real cycle: focus round, break, next round, with a long break after each set.

- Presets Classic (25/5/15), Deep (50/10/20) and Light (15/3/10), or custom lengths and 2–6 rounds per set.
- Breaks start on their own; focus rounds wait for you. Both are switches, plus an optional chime.
- `B` starts or skips a break and starts the next round; `P` pauses.
- Breaks count as pauses, so focus time and deep focus leave them out.

### Focus statistics: day, week and month (28 September 2026)

Statistics › Focus is rebuilt around sessions.

- Focus time, deep focus (25+ minutes without a pause), sessions and tasks completed in focus, each compared with the period before.
- An optional daily focus goal, shown as a line on the chart and as days met.
- Every session listed by day, with its pauses, tasks and filter; delete with five seconds to undo.

### Single Task Focus v2 (28 September 2026)

A new focus view built around one queue: the tasks your current filter shows, in matrix order, with today’s focus first.

- `Space` completes and the next task slides in; `U` undoes for five seconds.
- Inline notes save as you type and go to Todoist as one comment.
- Search the queue with `/` or `⌘`/`Ctrl`+`K`; a summary when you exit.

### Ambient sounds, rebuilt (28 September 2026)

Nine sounds generated in the browser: calmer, seamless loops that are matched in loudness and crossfade when you switch. They also start more reliably across browsers and sit at a gentler default volume.

### Focus timers keep running in the background (28 September 2026)

The timer stays right when the browser tab is in the background, on desktop and mobile, and the minimised timer bar opens the timer when clicked.

### Rename tasks in place (28 September 2026)

Double-click a title, or press `R` or `F2`, to rename a task without leaving the matrix. The change goes to Todoist with Undo. New tasks now keep the due date and deadline you picked in every time zone.

### Compact filters (28 September 2026)

On desktop the filters are one toolbar row instead of a panel.

- Project and label are searchable lists: type, pick several, remove with Backspace.
- The All filters panel brings in your Todoist filters, with the date filter first and one save button.
- Smoother motion when filters change.

### Undo for completing and moving tasks (28 September 2026)

Completing a task can be undone from its notification, which reopens it in Todoist. Every move between quadrants offers Undo too.

### Fixes (28 September 2026)

- Today’s focus no longer marks tasks as done when a Todoist filter hides them.
- Single Task Focus no longer fails when the queue is briefly empty.
- Row actions at the bottom right of the matrix are clickable again.
- Classic view: quadrant cards in a row share their height.

### The Clean view, now the default (27 September 2026)

A new matrix layout: a quiet cross with urgency across and importance down, task rows grouped by date, and a keyboard-first design.

- A shortcut strip above the matrix and a full list on `?`; the strip can be hidden.
- Motion for completing, moving, expanding and folding quadrants.
- Clean is the default for everyone; Classic stays one key (`V`) away.

### A friendlier first run (27 September 2026)

New accounts get a welcome card, a short starter sort of their most pressing tasks, a guided walk through the matrix and a few tips on day two. The daily review no longer opens on the day you sign up.

### A warmer look (27 September 2026)

A warm neutral palette with calmer quadrant colours, a new tab title and a matrix favicon.

### Daily review: Clear → Choose → Commit (26 September 2026)

The morning review is redesigned in three steps: clear what carried over, choose up to three tasks, commit to the plan.

### Delete your account and data (26 September 2026)

A new Delete Account option removes everything the app stores about you, after you type DELETE to confirm. Your Todoist tasks are not touched.

### Faster (26 September 2026)

Fewer requests when you complete tasks and a quicker first load.

## August 2026

### Auto-prioritize for more accounts (4 August 2026)

Auto-prioritize now also works for accounts connected with a Todoist API key, and reports the tasks it skipped.

### Hide subtasks filter (3 August 2026)

Show only top-level tasks. The setting is saved with your filter presets.

### Presets and Todoist filters in one row (3 August 2026)

Your saved presets and your Todoist filters now sit together, with consistent separators.

### A richer daily review and Today’s focus bar (3 August 2026)

The review shows yesterday’s recap and suggested picks, and Today’s focus stays in a persistent bar above the matrix. Completed recurring focus tasks are marked as done.

### Smoother with long lists (3 August 2026)

Task rows render only when on screen, and the first load of the matrix is smaller.

## July 2026

### Daily review (21 July 2026)

A new morning plan-your-day ritual: handle what carried over, then pick today’s focus. Recurring tasks can be rescheduled inside the review.

### Sturdier loading (21 July 2026)

Better handling of slow loads, app updates and Todoist outages.

### Simpler statistics (14 July 2026)

The Matrix insight and balance cards were simplified, then removed from Statistics.
