Short, factual answers about Eisenhower Matrix for Todoist: how it works with your Todoist tasks, what it costs, what it changes and what it stores. If your question is not here, email [ylondonba@gmail.com](mailto:ylondonba@gmail.com).

## About the app

### What is Eisenhower Matrix for Todoist?

It is a web app that connects to your Todoist account and shows your tasks in the four quadrants of the Eisenhower Matrix: Do First, Schedule, Delegate and Backlog. It adds a daily review, a Today’s focus list, a Single Task Focus mode with a Pomodoro timer and ambient sounds, and focus statistics. Your tasks stay in Todoist.

### Can I use an Eisenhower Matrix with my Todoist tasks?

Yes. Connect your Todoist account to Eisenhower Matrix for Todoist and your existing tasks appear in the four quadrants. There is nothing to import or copy: the app reads your tasks live from Todoist and saves each task’s quadrant back to Todoist as a label. The [step-by-step guide](https://eisenhowertodoist.com/todoist-eisenhower-matrix/) shows how.

### Is it made by Todoist?

No. It is an independent app and is not created by, affiliated with, or supported by Todoist. It connects through Todoist’s official OAuth authorisation and is listed in [Todoist’s integrations directory](https://www.todoist.com/integrations/apps/eisenhower-matrix).

### Who is it for, and who is it not for?

It is for people who already manage their tasks in Todoist and want to see them by urgency and importance, plan each day in a few minutes and work on one task at a time. It is not for people who don’t use Todoist, because it has no task list of its own, and it is not an offline or native mobile app.

## Pricing and trial

### How much does it cost? Is there a free trial?

New accounts get a 7-day free trial with full access and no credit card required. After the trial there are two plans: Monthly at $4.99 per month, which you can cancel any time, or Lifetime access for a one-time payment of $19.90. Payments are handled by Gumroad. There is no free plan after the trial.

### What happens when the trial ends?

The app shows the plans instead of the matrix until you choose one. Nothing happens to your tasks or labels in Todoist, and you can still delete your account and its data from that screen.

### How do I manage or cancel the monthly plan?

Subscriptions are sold through Gumroad, so you manage them from your Gumroad library. Deleting your account in the app does not cancel a Gumroad subscription.

## Todoist, labels and filters

### Does it change my Todoist tasks or labels?

Only when you do something in the app, or when you turn on Auto-prioritize. Putting a task in a quadrant adds a label to it in Todoist (do, schedule, delegate or backlog) and removes its previous quadrant label; your other labels are kept. Completing, renaming, setting a due date or deadline, adding a task, and writing a comment or focus note make the same change in Todoist. Auto-prioritize, if you turn it on, moves tasks into Do First by changing the same label. The app does not import or duplicate your tasks.

### How are quadrants stored?

As ordinary Todoist labels on each task: do for Do First, schedule for Schedule, delegate for Delegate and backlog for Backlog. Matching ignores upper and lower case. A task has one quadrant at a time, and tasks without one of these labels wait under Categorize until you sort them. Because the labels live in Todoist, you can also use them there, for example in a Todoist filter such as @do.

### What happens to tasks without a quadrant label?

They are not in a quadrant yet. The Categorize button in the header shows how many there are and lets you sort them one at a time with the keys 1 to 4, going back with the left arrow or skipping with the right arrow.

### Does it work with my Todoist filters?

Yes. The filters you saved in Todoist appear under From Todoist in the Saved menu above the matrix. Applying one shows the tasks that filter matches, sorted into quadrants. They are read-only in the app; you create and edit them in Todoist. The app also has its own filters by project, label, priority and due date, which you can save as presets.

### Does it use Todoist priorities (P1 to P4)?

Yes, as information. Each task shows its Todoist priority, you can filter by P1 to P4, and the daily review uses priority to suggest focus tasks. The quadrant is separate: sorting a task into a quadrant does not change its priority.

### Does it work with subtasks and recurring tasks?

Yes. Subtasks can be shown inside their parent task (Settings, Nest subtasks) or hidden with the Hide subtasks filter. Recurring tasks work too, with two differences: completing a recurring task can’t be undone from the app, and the swipe-to-snooze gesture on mobile asks you to reschedule recurring tasks in Todoist.

## Privacy and your data

### What Todoist data does the app access?

When you connect, you approve access on Todoist’s own authorisation page, so the app never sees your Todoist password. It reads your active tasks, projects, labels, saved filters and task comments so it can show and filter them, and it writes the changes you make in the app. Requests to Todoist go through the app’s server, and your Todoist access token is stored with your account.

### What data does the app store about me?

Your login details, your Todoist connection and access token, and the data the app’s own features create: task completion history and statistics, streaks and achievements, focus sessions, daily reviews, notes and goals, filter presets, preferences and subscription records. Some display choices, such as Clean or Classic view, are kept only in your browser.

### How do I disconnect Todoist or delete my data?

You can revoke the app’s access at any time in your Todoist settings, under Integrations. To remove everything the app stores, open the account menu in the app, choose Delete Account and type DELETE to confirm. This permanently deletes your account, Todoist connection, statistics, focus sessions, notes and preferences. Your tasks inside Todoist are not affected. Deleting the account does not cancel a Gumroad subscription; manage that from your Gumroad library.

## Using the app

### Does it work on mobile? Is there an app?

Yes, in the browser. The app has a mobile layout with a bottom action bar, swipe gestures and a full-screen focus view, and you can add it to your home screen. There is no separate native app in the App Store or Google Play.

### Does it work offline?

No. Tasks are read from and saved to Todoist live, so the app needs an internet connection.

### Can it prioritise tasks automatically? Does it use AI?

Partly. Auto-prioritize uses a plain due-date rule, no AI: once a night it moves tasks due within a number of days you choose into Do First, and can include tasks due today and overdue tasks. Optional AI quadrant suggestions (off by default) propose a quadrant for each task when you sort; you accept, change or skip each one, and nothing moves until you accept. Only after you turn them on are the titles, due dates, priorities, project names and labels of the tasks you are sorting sent to Anthropic, an AI provider; notes and comments are never sent. The daily review’s suggestions use a plain rule (due today, then Do First, then Todoist priority).

### Does it have a Pomodoro timer?

Yes. Single Task Focus has a Pomodoro cycle of focus rounds, short breaks and a long break after each set. The presets are Classic (25, 5 and 15 minutes), Deep (50, 10 and 20) and Light (15, 3 and 10), or you can set your own lengths and 2 to 6 rounds per set. Breaks can start automatically, and focus time is recorded in Statistics, per task too, so you can copy a time report or download it as a CSV.

### Can I use it with just the keyboard?

Mostly, yes. The arrow keys move around the matrix, 1 to 4 move a task to a quadrant, Space completes it, Enter opens Single Task Focus and V switches between the Clean and Classic views. Press ? in the app, or see the [keyboard shortcuts page](https://eisenhowertodoist.com/keyboard-shortcuts/), for the full list.

### Which languages does it support?

The app’s interface is in English. Your tasks can be in any language, since they are your own Todoist tasks. There is also a [guide to the method in Turkish](https://eisenhowertodoist.com/tr/eisenhower-matrisi/).

### How do I get help or suggest a feature?

Email [ylondonba@gmail.com](mailto:ylondonba@gmail.com). On desktop, the app also has a help button and a feature request button in the bottom left corner.
